Breast Cancer Survivors & Their Physicians Will Take to the Runway With 10 Professional Models

Breast cancer survivors and their physicians as well as professional runway models will take part in Stamford Hospital’s annual Paint the Town Pink Fashion Show at the Lord & Taylor store in Stamford. The event will take place Tuesday, October 7 at 6 p.m. in Lord & Taylor’s Bulls Head location at 110 High Ridge Road in Stamford, Conn.

The fashion show will feature 13 breast cancer survivors and seven physicians (oncologists, surgeons, and radiologists) from Fairfield, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, and Westport, as well as Bedford, Millwood, Port Chester, and Rye, N.Y. They will be joined by 10 models from New York.

In addition to the fashion show, the Paint the Town Pink campaign will also host a variety of social and educational events through the month of October. These activities include: “Pink Bag Lunch & Learn” presentations about breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, as well as a Girl’s Night Out event in New York City with a “Sex & the City” On Location tour. Also scheduled is a Girlfriends Luncheon, 8 mobile mammography screenings and shopping events at Agabhumi, The Best of Bali, Darien Sport Shop, United House Wrecking, and Saks Fifth Avenue in Stamford.

Paint the Town Pink is a community-wide effort that will run throughout the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Its goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer-related issues such as the importance of screenings and early detection, as well as the treatment and services available in this area. The campaign is sponsored by the Stamford Hospital in conjunction with organizations throughout the communities of Stamford, Darien, New Canaan and Wilton.
