Mayor Pavia today convened a meeting at the Emergency Operations Center at 3:00 PM today bringing together all principal parties in the event of initiating emergency management, should the hurricane or its effects, strike Stamford. Attending the meeting were Fire Chief McGrath, Police Chief Nivakoff, Captain Lombardo, members of the Mayor’s Cabinet, Health Department and representatives from the City’s Volunteer Fire Departments, Stamford Hospital, Stamford EMS and Connecticut Light & Power.

A thorough review of emergency plans, operations and procedures was reviewed and the City is in contact with the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Operation and Homeland Security. “We are prepared to fully respond to all storm related contingencies,” Mayor Pavia said. “I will continue to monitor the situation throughout the next 24 hours and respond accordingly to protect the safety and wellbeing of the public.”
