Annually, the Mobile Mammography Program provides about 1,000 screening mammograms for uninsured and under-insured women, thanks to grants from the Breast Cancer Alliance, Clairol Division of P&G, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Stamford Hospital Foundation. Women are asked to schedule their appointments in advance for the upcoming screening dates: Saturday, October 4, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Chester Addison Community Center, 805 Atlantic St., Stamford. Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Program provides screenings and follow-up services throughout the entire year. The hospital’s Women’s Breast Center at the Tully Health Center provides a full spectrum of screening, diagnosis and treatment for breast care and breast cancer. Paint the Town Pink is a community-wide effort that runs throughout the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Its goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer-related issues such as the importance of screening and early detection, as well as the treatment and services available in this area. The campaign is sponsored by the Stamford Hospital in conjunction with organizations throughout the communities of Stamford, Darien, New and Canaan.
