Greenwich, CT - With moms in mind, Becker Salon at 268 Mason Street in Greenwich is offering “Mother’s Day Dos,” two specially-priced packages designed to indulge moms with the pampering they deserve and hairdos they will flip over. The first package for $200, regularly $260, includes highlights and/or single process color as needed, blow-dry and makeup. The second package, for $250, normally $355, includes the same services as the first, plus a haircut. The salon will donate $50 from each package to Friends of Autistic People (FAP) in an effort to raise money for its Farm Academy project in Connecticut. Appointments are available by calling 203-340-9550.

“May is the month to celebrate mothers and treat them extra special with a gift to our salon where they can relax and come away with a refreshing look for spring,” said Becker Chicaiza, founder and owner of Becker Salon. “At the same time, we’re assisting Friends of Autistic People in creating opportunities for children with autism. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for FAP’s Farm Academy so that these young people with autism may live, learn and work in an environment designed for their very unique needs.”

“We are thrilled with Becker Salon’s support,” said Brita Darany, president of FAP. With one in 150 children diagnosed with autism today, there will be a generation of adults without services or programs and no chance for any future. Our Farm Academy project promises to create a nurturing environment where individuals with autism can live, learn and work.”

Founded in 1998, FAP (www.autisticadults.com) is a Greenwich-based, non-profit parents’ support group of more than 2,500 members in Greenwich and Fairfield County, who advocate for life span services for the entire spectrum of children with autism as they mature into adulthood. The organization’s latest project is the building of a Farm Living and Learning Academy Village in Connecticut, an organic farm that will provide continued educational services and combine boarding and day programs. FAP is well known and respected in the larger Greenwich region and within the autism community. On April 9, at Greenwich Town Hall, First Selectman Peter Tesei declared the month of April as Friends of Autistic People Month.

Becker is passionate about helping others and recently raised $3,000 for Kids in Crisis. He regularly gives complimentary haircuts to patients at area nursing homes and hospitals. Becker also donates one percent of the salon’s income to children’s cancer research.

Since opening in 2007, Becker Salon has cultivated a large following of customers who appreciate Becker’s personal attention and ability to create unique hair color, cuts and styles. Becker’s mission is to highlight the beauty of every person who enters the salon through the magic touch of his hands and to make the experience an unforgettable moment of great transformation. The “Mother’s Day Dos” will follow this mission and mothers will leave the salon renewed and rejuvenated.

Becker Salon is located at 268 Mason Street in Greenwich. The “Mother’s Day Dos” begin Thursday, May 1 and continue through Saturday, May 31. Appointments are necessary. For further information or to schedule an appointment, please call 203-340-9550 or visit www.beckersalon.com.
