Stamford, CT - Stamford Museum & Nature Center and the Appalachian Mountain Club team up again for the 17th Annual Family Fall Foliage Frolic on Sunday, October 19, at 11 am, rain or shine, at Stamford Museum & Nature Center. Participants will meet at the trailhead in front of the Studio building, next to the Bendel Mansion (main building).

This kid-friendly fall foliage hike offers a broad variety of terrain including marsh boardwalks, a bird watching ridge, a few hills, and is about 3 miles long. Take in all the fall colors SM&NC’s trails have to offer. An easy turn-back is available midway should your little ones get tired and prefer a shorter distance. Participants should bring lunch for a rest stop in the middle of the hike.

“The hike originated in 1993 when our daughter Amanda was 4-yeas-old. We wanted to find other families with kids to hike with,” said hike leader Jay Vivian.
“Amanda like it a lot, and we’ve done it ever since. Fortunately, the foliage peaks this year on a weekend she’s home from college, so the hike goes on!”

After the hike, stay for Harvest Spooktacular, Stamford Museum & Nature Center’s annual fall family festival.
Festival day admission: Members: $5; Non-Members: $10.Children under 3 years of age are free.
