Stamford, CT – On March 17, in support of “Stamford Against Dystrophy Day”, Splash Car Wash of Stamford, CT will donate a percentage of sales to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the local MDA Summer Camp program. March 17 was recently named “Stamford Against Dystrophy Day” by Stamford Mayor, Mike Pavia, in honor of James Lacerenza, a local college student with cerebral palsy who campaigns tirelessly to support the MDA Summer Camp program. On his 23rd birthday this March 17, James Lacerenza and local area merchants will raise funds to help fulfill his dream of sending as many children as possible to the local MDA Summer Camp in Spring Valley, New York to help improve the lives of children living with and fighting neuromuscular diseases.
James Lacerenza’s goal is to both raise awareness and funds to help sponsor campers for the 2010 summer camp season. The MDA Summer Camp program was established in 1995. The Spring Valley, NY Sumer Camp plays host to 70 campers every year in a fully accessible, fully supervised environment that is free of charge to the families of children suffering from muscular dystrophy. Barriers are broken and lasting friendships are made.
