Stamford Tables (Stamford Downtown’s restaurant association) is excited to partner with Stamford Hospital & Stamford Youth Foundation in a community collaborative to launch a brand new program called Kid’s Fans 5-2-1-0. In fact, Stamford will be the first community in the nation to launch this unique program, designed to build healthy families by encouraging nutritional eating, fitness activity and a healthy weight. The Kids Fans 5-2-1-0 daily message is simple: eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, limit screen time to 2 hours (television or computer games), enjoy 1 hour of moderate exercise, and consume almost 0 sweetened drinks. The community initiative which created Kids Fans 5-2-1-0 was under the direction of Dr. Madhu Mathur, Director of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Stamford Hospital. “Stamford Tables looks forward to promoting this important cause by adding healthy children’s items to our Summer Restaurant Weeks menus” explains Stamford Tables Chairman Michael Marchetti, also owner of Columbus Park Trattoria. Children can dine for $6.95 at lunch and $9.95 for dinner during the two weeks. Patrons are encouraged to check menus on www.stamford-downtown.com or call participating restaurants directly for further information. Reservations are strongly suggested. © Copyright by StamfordPlus.com.
