Summerview Square
Summerview Square, a 63-unit Townhome-style rental community in Norwalk has been named 2010 Community of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut (HBACT). The state’s leading home building industry association has also awarded Summerview Development Group, property manager and developers’ representative for Summerview Square two Home Building Industry HOBI Awards for Best Rental Community and Best Rental Unit.

The HOBI Awards, the state’s most prestigious home building industry awards are given to builders throughout Connecticut for excellence in design, construction, remodeling, and land development. Recipients are chosen by a jury of peers who select the best in class in the State of Connecticut.

“Being recognized as the top residential community in the State of Connecticut by fellow home building professionals is truly an honor that reflects the supreme collaboration of the developers, builders, the City of Norwalk and the neighborhood association that has supported Summerview Square from the beginning,” says Andrew J. LaSala, Jr., partner of Summervew Development Group, a Wilton real estate development and building company that represents the property owners, Summerview Square, LLC of White Plains, New York.

Summerview Square is being built in four phases in the neighborhood surrounding West Main Street, Summer Street and Jefferson Street. The first phase of 13 one and two-bedroom apartment homes officially opened in August. The community is a combination Shingle, Colonial and Victorian-style townhomes and multi-unit apartments, each with a front porch and a sidewalk that links the neighborhood together.

The development team has worked closely with The West Main Street Neighborhood Association to preserve the community’s historic look and feel, and has hired local builders, sub-contractors, and service providers who are members of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association (HBRA) of Fairfield County, part of the National Association of Home Builders.

Located conveniently near I-95, each apartment home is equipped with energy efficient GE appliances, central air conditioning and heating, hardwood floors, walk-in closets, ample storage space, washer-dryers, and two bathrooms in the two-bedroom units. Elevators are installed in some of the multi-level homes that are handicap and wheelchair accessible. All units have their own attached, one- and two-car garages and private entrances from secure common hallways.
