Country-rock band Poco appears with Marshall Crenshaw

Formed back in 1968, Poco rose from the ashes of the Buffalo Springfield and began infusing the Los Angeles folk/rock sound with their deep-rooted lyricism and the sound of country music (think “Crazy Love”). Two of the early members (Rusty Young and Paul Cotton) remain; Jack Sundrud and George Lawrence now join them as Poco returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 28.

Calf Pasture Beach offers free entertainment

Gunsmoke will perform at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6 (rain date the following night), at Calf Pasture Beach as part of the free summer entertainment program organized by the Norwalk Department of Recreation and Parks. A parking fee of $5.00 will be charged for cars without a Norwalk beach sticker. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and comfortable seating for each of these events.
