During the current recessionary times, the blues may strike you more often than usual. While a cupcake or a good book could cheer you up, why not take some advice from Holly Golightly, the iconic film character played by Audrey Hepburn? Holly always said, “Well, when I get [the blues] the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there.”

Thanks to the Westport Youth Film Festival (WYFF), you can do just the same! On Sunday March 14, WYFF will present “A Breakfast with Tiffany,” its third annual fundraiser that supports the largest youth film festival in the world run for high school students by high school students.

The title originates from the 1961 classic movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” For this program, WYFF will work in coordination with its sponsor Tiffany’s & Co., a branch of which is located on Main Street in Westport. While guests enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet with food provided by Gold’s Deli and Trader Joes, “Team WYFF” (high school student film makers and administrators) will model the latest jewelry Tiffany jewelry lines, as well as clothing from a store in the community.

“A Breakfast With Tiffany” will be held at 10 a.m. at the Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Avenue in Westport, CT. Tickets start at $100 per person. All funds donated to the event will be used to support the activities of WYFF and its year-round programs. All guests are also eligible for a Tiffany & Co. jewelry prize, as well as two tickets to John William’s Movie Night at Tanglewood with VIP parking.

For tickets, visit the Westport Arts Center web site www.westportartscenter.org or call the Westport Arts Center at 203-222-7070.

Created and run by high school students, the Westport Youth Film Festival is now entering its seventh year. The festival has grown to two days, includes year-round programming, and attracts young filmmakers from around the globe. WYFF is a program of the Westport Arts Center.
