Hartford, CT - The Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) is sponsoring Public Act 11-237 -- CHRO’s Expedited Case Processing Conference on October 20, 2011 at the state Capitol in the Old Judiciary Room, 210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT from 10:00 to 12:00. The topics to be discussed are Connecticut’s anti-discrimination law, expediting CHRO’s complaint process, mediation and early legal intervention.
There will also be an interactive panel discussion about expediting CHRO’s process in this millennium, to address the Agency’s ever-increasing statutory responsibility and shrinking staff.
Participants include private Attorneys Mary Kelly, George O’Brien, Daniel Schwartz, Ann Bird and Cynthia Jennings and CHRO Attorneys Kimberly Jacobsen, Cheryl A. Sharp, Michelle Dumas Keuler, Alix Simonetti, Charles Krich and Margaret Nurse Goodison.
The mission of the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities is to eliminate discrimination through civil and human rights law enforcement and to establish equal opportunity and justice for all persons within the state through advocacy and education.
