The Norwalk Historical Society is seeking volunteers to help with its annual Memorial Day Open House on Monday, May 25 from 9 – 1, immediately following Norwalk’s Memorial Day Parade. The Open house will be at The Historical Society’s headquarters, located at Mill Hill Historic Park, Two East Wall Street.

Pre event: Volunteers are needed to distribute flyers and publicity handouts, both around town and during Norwalk’s Memorial Day Parade. We need bakers too!

Day of event: Volunteers needed to assist in both indoor and outdoor set up/breakdown/clean up. We also need volunteers to assist throughout event in directing visitors, helping with reception, sales, and membership tables, and also to assist with a children’s craft table. We need roving photographers too!

Interested volunteers should call (203) 846-0525 or email info@norwalkhistoricalsociety.org with the subject "Memorial Day Volunteer.”

The Norwalk Historical Society was incorporated in 1899 with the purpose of promoting and encouraging historical research in Norwalk. That vision is kept alive today with the re-establishment of the NHS in 1949 and the continued focus on “the research, preservation, and promotion of interest in the history of Norwalk.” For further information on the Norwalk Historical Society, please visit the society’s website at www.norwalkhistoricalsociety.org.
