Product Safety Inspectors from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection are conducting recall effectiveness checks on Wal-Mart Stores in response to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s voluntary recall of “Faded Glory Lip Gloss, Locket and Bracelet Sets, due to high levels of lead. This product was manufactured in China and imported by F.A.F. Inc., of Greenville, Rhode Island.

The three piece set consists of a heart shaped necklace, a charm bracelet and a rectangle shaped lip gloss container. The Model numbers and UPC code of the recalled products, are as follows: {Cat Set} Model # 6709-4250, UPC # 72783357705 ; {Monkey Set} Model # 6709-4251, UPC # 72783357704; {Frog Set} Model # 6709-4250, UPC # 72783357703. The model number, UPC and “Faded Glory”, are printed on the product’s hangtag.

This product was sold nationwide at Wal-Mart Stores from May 2008 to June 2008 for approximately $6.00.

Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr. strongly recommends that parents check their children’s jewelry for any of these products and if found, immediately remove from their possession and return to any Wal-Mart Store for a full refund. For additional information, please call F.A.F. Inc. toll free at (800) 949-3311, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET or visit their website at www.faf.com . Although no injuries/incidents have been reported, the risk for lead exposure is high.
