The Copper Beech Inn, known for its superb food, skilled service, and its romantic and rich setting, announced it has received the 2010 Wine Spectator's "Best of" Award of Excellence, one of the world's most prestigious awards for outstanding and comprehensive wine lists.
With just 788 winners worldwide, this award recognizes restaurants that exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence. Qualifying lists typically offer 400 or more selections, and are judged on specific criteria, including presentation as well as display of vintage depth and breadth across several wine regions.
Over 400 selections and 3,000 bottles make up The Copper Beech Inn's wine list, which has been hailed by the New York Times as "quite spectacular". One of just two restaurants in Connecticut to hold both a AAA Four-Diamond designation and the "Best of" Award of Excellence, this is the sixth consecutive year the Inn has received the award.
"We are extremely honored to have once again received such an esteemed award. We continue to work hard to maintain an evolving wine list that both pairs well with Executive Chef Tyler Anderson's innovative cuisine and satisfies the discerning palettes of our clientele." - Ian Phillips, Owner
An intimate country hotel, named by the readers of Connecticut Magazine as the "Best Country Inn" in Connecticut and USA Today's "America's Top 100 Hotel Restaurants," The Copper Beech Inn portrays subtle and refined elegance in traditional New England style.
The Copper Beech Inn's restaurants, including Brasserie Pip a hip, casual dining experience, serve their award-winning wine and food every evening beginning at 5pm. The Inn accommodates both large and small groups for social and corporate events, weddings, holiday parties and private luncheons.
