The Department of Motor Vehicles’ Bridgeport Office turned “Pink” today to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month among staff and customers.
Employees wore pink clothing, staff decorated the office with pink balloons and ribbons, and informational brochures were distributed. St. Vincent’s Medical Center staff came to the office and handed out additional information to educate the public.
The day focused on getting people to think about the disease and its affects on the lives of so many people.
“This is horrible disease touches so many lives,” said DMV Commissioner Melody A. Currey, a cancer survivor herself. “I applaud our Bridgeport Office staff for taking it upon themselves to come together and bring the issue of breast cancer awareness to the forefront.”
Bridgeport office staff member Ravaye Yorke helped organize the day in honor of her sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
