Dr. Sonya Rhodes -- New Ideals of Masculinity in a Changing Culture at The Ferguson Library

STAMFORD, CT - Dr. Sonya Rhodes, author of The Alpha Woman Meets Her Match: How Strong Women Can Find Love, Success and Happiness without Settling, will be the featured speaker at The Ferguson Library in Stamford on Wednesday, June 4 at 7 p.m.

Her presentation, “New Ideals of Masculinity in a Changing Culture,” will take place in the Main Library Third Floor Auditorium, Bedford & Broad Streets, Stamford.

Sonya Rhodes, PhD, received her doctorate from Columbia University and has been a practicing psychotherapist in New York City for over 30 years. In addition to her recently-published book, The Alpha Woman Meets Her Match, she is the co-author of three previous books: Surviving Family Life, Cold Feet: Why Men Don’t Commit, and Second Honeymoon: The Mid-Life Marriage.

As the marriage columnist for McCall’s magazine for several years, Dr. Rhodes discussed issues affecting couples at all stages of the life cycle. She has been a guest on many talk shows, including “Oprah,” “Geraldo,” and the “Today Show.”

Dr. Rhodes’ professional affiliations have included part-time faculty positions at Columbia University, Hunter College, and New York Medical College. She has published in professional journals as well as for the general public. She lives in New York City with her husband, where she has a private practice specializing in couples therapy.
