Norwalk, CT - To accommodate electrical work by Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P), the Norwalk Parking Authority will need to close the westbound commuter parking lot at the East Norwalk train station from Monday, October 21st until Saturday, December 7th. Alternative parking for commuters will be available at the East Norwalk railroad eastbound parking lot, 232 East Avenue. When completed, the project will result in improved electric reliability and additional parking spaces at the westbound lot.
To meet growing customer demand for reliable electric service in Norwalk, CL&P is constructing transmission lines that will connect a new substation on Fitch Street in Norwalk to high voltage transmission lines. Structures will also be built in the westbound parking lot of the railroad station.
Regular Metro North train service will remain the same. There will be only handicapped parking available in the westbound lot. Signage, flagmen, police officers and parking personnel will be available to direct people to the train during commuting hours. Commuters can call the Norwalk Parking Authority at 203-831-9063 with any questions.
