Last year's sold out gala raised more than $50,000 for the Museum's exhibitions and programs; a testament to the community's support. The event welcomed nearly 350 guests, including State Senator John McKinney, the Honorable Daniel Caruso, and First Selectman Kenneth Flatto among many others. An equal number of guests are expected to attend this year's celebration. Event co-chair Carol Wheeler said, "The event will be a festive evening, and a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the many accomplishments of the Museum's opening year. The Museum's superb ambiance provides a wonderful setting for people to gather and enjoy each other's company." The event will also celebrate the opening of a new exhibition of the work of internationally-renowned photographer Philip Trager. In a limited-time exhibition entitled Philip Trager Photography: Selections from the Connecticut Series, 1974-1976, Trager captures the spirit of Connecticut and shows how architecture is man's created landscape. Tickets for this year's elegant affair are available for a range of contributions: $750 at the Visionary level, $500 at the Benefactor level, $250 at the Patron level and $100 at the Friend level. Guests at the Visionary and Benefactor ticket level will enjoy a private reception with Presidential Historian, Douglas Brinkley and attend his lecture at Fairfield University's Open VISIONS forum on Monday, September 15, 2008. About Fairfield Museum and History Center The Fairfield Museum and History Center was established in 2007 by the Fairfield Historical Society.
