First Night Danbury is "Looking Up and Moving Forward," celebrating its 22nd year of fun filled, family friendly arts events throughout CityCenter on New Year's Eve. The multi-cultural, multi-arts fest begins on Saturday, December 31st with an afternoon 5K run and ends with fireworks at 8:30 p.m. In between, there's stilt walkers, giant puppets, storytellers, lots of music, and fun for all.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to check First Nighters in at the doors for more than 30 entertainments at such venues as The Palace Theatre, Heirloom Arts, Danbury Music Center, and the Danbury Library. First Night also needs greeters to meet the performers and assist backstage. Or perhaps, you're a group who would enjoy the challenge of parading giant puppets throughout CityCenter streets.

All ages are welcomed, and First Night encourages family teams to host. Everyone receives a button to First Night and with two hour shifts, enough time to attend several performances. Community Service hours are available.

To participate in welcoming in the New Year, contact Stacey Olszewski at staceyolszewski@yahoo.com or call (203) 512-9100.
