In the shadow of the horrific massacre of five members of the Fogel family on Friday night, March 11, Shalom TV honors the memory of Udi (36), Ruth (35), Yoav (11), Elad (4), and Hadas (3 months) with two featured programs now available online at www.shalomtv.com as well as carried on television throughout America beginning Sunday, March 27.

One program is the complete Memorial Service for the Fogel family that took place at Congregation Kehilath Jeshrun in Manhattan. Speakers include Rabbi Haskel Lookstein (Kehilath Jeshurun), Malcolm Hoenlein (Presidents Conference), Amb. Meron Reuben (Israeli U.N. Ambassador), the Rev. Jacques DeGraff (Canaan Baptist Church, Harlem), Rabbi Yaakov Kermaier (NY Board of Rabbis), Marian Stoltz-Loike (JCRCNY), Eric Goldstein (UJA-Federation of NY), and Shlomi Kofman (Israeli Consul General Office, NYC). The Memorial Service was sponsored principally by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.

The second program is a moving conversation with Leah Goldsmith, the spokesperson of Itamar--the West Bank settlement in which the murders took place. Leah speaks about the Fogel family, describes how the residents of Itamar are coping with the tragedy, and shares her optimism about the Jewish future.

"The savagery of the attack takes one's breath away," comments Rabbi Mark S. Golub, president of Shalom TV, who covered both the Memorial Service at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in Manhattan and interviewed Mrs. Goldsmith. "If anyone imagines there is any justification for Palestinians to strike out against Israeli families because Palestinians feel they have been victimized by Israel, one need only think of the justification Jews had to strike out at Nazi families during the Holocaust--and yet can anyone conceive of a Jew sneaking into a Nazi home and stabbing a sleeping child to death? The world must understand the degree of evil this terrorist pogrom represents."

Shalom TV can be seen on Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision, Verizon FiOS, Antietam, Cox Communications, RCN, Bright House, Armstrong, Service Electric Cablevision, Service Electric Cable TV, Buckeye CableSystem, Metrocast, Blue Ridge Communications, Frontier, WOW!, Click!, GCI, and Rogers Cable (Canada).
