Norwalk, CT – On February 18 th , 2018, 6-year-old Emma Mackenzie Splan passed away from complications due to the flu. As a student of CT Theater Dance (CTD), they remember her as a beautiful, bright and spirited little girl who loved all things dance, the color pink and anything sparkly. She was the only child of Christy and David Splan, who were both very supportive of CTD. From 18 months old, CTD had the pleasure and privilege to inspire Emma’s love to dance.

Emma’s joy and enthusiasm for dance was contagious to all who knew and loved her. “She made teaching dance special and fulfilling, always attending classes with a passionate heart, pretty smile and sparkle in her eyes,” says Michelle Sperry, Director of CTD.

In loving memory of Emma and in solidarity for the Splan Family, CTD will be hosting a Forever Angel Tribute for Emma to celebrate her very young life and to raise an ENCORE Youth Scholarship Fund in her honor: The Forever Angel Scholarship. This very special, annual scholarship will be awarded to a young dancer who could otherwise not afford a
dance education. The tribute will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center. There is no cost to attend and everyone is encouraged to attend to celebrate her young, beautiful life.

Festivities planned:
? Specially commissioned dance piece: “Forever Angel”
? Complimentary dance classes
? Silent auction
? Honorary Plaque “ Emma’s Closet” will be presented to the Splan Family. Like so many of our young dancers, Emma adored CTD’s dress-up closet. The plaque will forever hang on our closet in Emma’s honor.
? Raffle tickets for a variety of family activities and games
? Memorial photo presentation
? Food and beverages

You can join CTD on Saturday, March 24 th from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center Ballroom, 99 East Avenue Norwalk, CT 06851.
