Fox: State bond commission to approve $50M for Metro-North bridge in Stamford

State Representatives Gerald Fox III (D-Stamford) is announcing the state Bond Commission is expected to approve $50 million funding to finance replacement of the Metro-North Railroad Bridge over Atlantic Street to improve vehicular capacity and pedestrian access.

“I am pleased the State Bond Commission is scheduled to approve this $50 million bond request to finance this important project for Stamford," Rep. Fox said. "The funds are critically important to finance the replacement of the Metro-North Railroad Bridge over Atlantic Street. Once, completed the project will benefit all vehicular drivers and pedestrians in the area. I want to thank Governor Malloy for placing the funding request on the Bond Commission's agenda for approval."

The project is also expected to create or retain approximately 1,575 construction related jobs.

The Bond Commission is scheduled to meet Monday, January 25, 2013, in Room 1E, Legislative Office Building, at 10:30 a.m.
