At the monthly meeting of The Stamford Garden Club, Tuesday, March 13 to be held at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT, Kerry Ann Mendez will address the Club’s members and guests. Ms. Mendez will discuss the great perennials (the majority of which are native) for spring, summer and fall color as well as design tips and organic practices for healthy gorgeous gardens. Sustainable practices will be emphasized and topics covered include perennials, shrubs, annuals, fertilizers, natural repellants, and much more.

The meeting begins at 9:30am with refreshments. After a brief meeting Ms. Mendez will speak. For reservations contact the Stamford Garden Club through its website, www.stamfordgardenclub.

Kerry Mendez, owner of Perennially Yours in Ballston Spa, NY, is dedicated to teaching people of all ages the art of low-maintenance perennial gardening and landscaping. As a garden consultant, designer, writer, teacher and lecturer, she focuses on time-saving gardening techniques and workhorse plant material as well as organic practices. Over 10,000 people have attended her lectures. Her gardens have been shown in numerous published books.

Ms. Mendez has written for many national magazines including Horticulture, Fine Gardening, Garden Gate and Better Homes and Gardens’ Garden Ideas & Outdoor Living. Her gardens have been seen in several published gardening books and she has appeared on television as a host and featured guest.
Her website attracts thousands of gardeners. She has conducted over 1,000 garden and landscape consultations in Upstate New York and New England.

A self-taught gardener with over 25 years of experience and a “passionate perennialist” Kerry Mendez enjoys mixing humor with practical information.

The Stamford Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club of America. Both organizations are qualified as 501(c)3.
