K-12 learning intervention center opens first Connecticut learning center

Gemm Learning, a learning intervention center and the largest provider of Fast ForWord in the U.S., has recently expanded, opening a center in Greenwich, Connecticut as well Scarsdale, New York.

The learning intervention center, with headquarters in Pelham, New York, offers unique programs to change the way children learn. Working with the concept of brain plasticity, the brain’s natural ability to adapt and change when exercised appropriately, the company’s programs target the root causes of children’s learning challenges rather than tutoring the symptoms.

The Greenwich learning center will offer children’s programs including Fast ForWord software, FASTT Math and other cutting-edge therapies. The center will also be the first Fairfield County Brain Fitness Program provider. The Brain Fitness Program, for mature adults, is designed to improve memory and other cognitive skills that have declined due to aging.

“We have had tremendous success in our Pelham center, impacting students’ cognitive abilities to produce gains in confidence, reading skills and grades. These outcomes persuaded us to open in new communities, like Greenwich and Scarsdale” said Geoff Nixon, founder of Gemm Learning. “By opening our first Connecticut learning center we hope to empower more children to overcome learning challenges by building the cognitive skills they need for academic confidence and success.”

Children can participate in Gemm Learning’s programs in center or at home, with or without a Gemm Learning coach. Incentives are awarded for their success in the program(s) including tokens, prizes and membership in Gemm City, an online social network. In honor of its opening, Gemm will host an Open House on June 7 and is offering a complementary, customized reading list with each reading assessment.

The Greenwich learning center is located at 1380 East Putnam Avenue in Old Greenwich.
