GREENWICH, CT - After the long winter, Second Congregational Church is inviting the community to help celebrate the return of warm weather at its annual Tent Weekend on Friday, June 6 - Sunday, June 8. The free festivities will offer something for everyone, including a student show, a jazz concert, children’s music, a carnival, picnicking and traditional worship.

Events will be held on the church campus at 139 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich, Connecticut. With one exception, noted below, activities will be on the lawn or under a tent behind the church. Folding chairs will be provided under the tent, and the tent’s sides may be used in case of rain.

"Tent Weekend is an annual tradition we really look forward to here at Second Church,” said Rev. Maxwell Grant, Senior Minister. “But this year, after what felt like the world's longest winter, the chance to enjoy a host of activities outside is especially welcome. On Sunday, we're excited to be welcoming more than 15 new members, celebrating our congregation's graduates and sending a beloved staff member off on a summer sabbatical, so there is a lot to be thankful for."

The following events are planned:

Friday, June 6:
5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., Waterman Chapel: Original student show: Church youths will present a student-created performance titled “Journal Through the Mind of a Teenager,” including music, innovative staging and audio-visual features.
6 p.m.: Jazz concert: The Greenwich High School Jazz Band will perform jazz standards and favorites under the tent. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., concertgoers may bring picnic suppers to eat on the lawn.

Saturday, June 7:
· 2-4 p.m.: Penny carnival: Attractions will include face painting, a dunk tank and games. Ice cream and popcorn will be served.
· 4 p.m.: Bossy Frog Band performance: This award-winning, interactive band encourages children to sing, move, think, feel, imagine and have fun. Attendees may bring their own picnics.

Sunday, June 8:
· 10:30 a.m.: Worship service: The church will hold its annual traditional service under the tent.
· 11:30 a.m. Picnic: This event will provide refreshments, fun, fellowship and activities for all ages.
