GREENWICH, CT - After the long winter, Second Congregational Church is inviting the community to help celebrate the return of warm weather at its annual Tent Weekend on Friday, June 6 - Sunday, June 8. The free festivities will offer something for everyone, including a student show, a jazz concert, children’s music, a carnival, picnicking and traditional worship.
Events will be held on the church campus at 139 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich, Connecticut. With one exception, noted below, activities will be on the lawn or under a tent behind the church. Folding chairs will be provided under the tent, and the tent’s sides may be used in case of rain.
"Tent Weekend is an annual tradition we really look forward to here at Second Church,” said Rev. Maxwell Grant, Senior Minister. “But this year, after what felt like the world's longest winter, the chance to enjoy a host of activities outside is especially welcome. On Sunday, we're excited to be welcoming more than 15 new members, celebrating our congregation's graduates and sending a beloved staff member off on a summer sabbatical, so there is a lot to be thankful for."
The following events are planned:
Friday, June 6:
