STAMFORD, CT - United Way of Western Connecticut is seeking applications from seniors attending a Stamford high school (public or private) for its annual Roberta K. Eichler Heart of Gold Scholarship. The scholarship is designed to recognize students who have committed to volunteering in the Stamford community over the course of their high school career.

Thanks to support from a generous donor, this year two $5,000 scholarship awards will be available. The scholarships support the continuing education of an outstanding local student volunteer. Applications are due by Monday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m. and all applications are to be completed online.

The Roberta K. Eichler Heart of Gold Scholarship Applications can be found at United Way’s website: https://www.uwwesternct.org/heartofgoldscholarshipapplication

A selection committee will review nominations and the scholarships will be awarded at the 2018 Heart of Gold Award Dinner, which will take place on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at The Loading Dock in Stamford. Marc Chini, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Leader of Synchrony Financial, will be honored with the 2018 Heart of Gold Award that evening.
