“Local Color 2010” promises a spectacular night of art with tastings of exceptional wines and hors d’oeuvres, sponsored by Children’s Aid of Darien, with proceeds to benefit Family & Children’s Agency of Norwalk. The event, which will include live music, is scheduled for Saturday, February 27, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien.

Works including oils, watercolors and photographs from over 40 local artists will be offered for sale. Grapes of Norwalk will be presenting tastings of the finest “buy vintages” from France’s Bordeaux, Rhone and Burgundy regions, as well as Italy’s Tuscany and Piedmont areas, Spain’s Ribera del Duero and Rioja vineyards, and California’s Napa and Sonoma regions, along with wines from Oregon and Washington. Each tasting is hand-selected by Grapes’ team of specialists, and cases of each wine will be available for purchase.

A silent auction and raffle will feature prizes from local businesses including Fitness Together, Lanphier Spa, Saks Fifth Avenue, Red Door Spa, Helen Ainson, Doncaster, Triple S Carpet, Crystal Nails, Nielsen’s Florist, Geary Gallery and Tengda Asian Bistro.

To make reservations for the event, please call Margaret Johnston at (203) 656-9502 or Arlene Tulacro at (203) 655-2740. Tickets are $75 per person.
