Fairfield, CT, January 31, 2009 –The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Fairfield County (HBRA) has announced the winners of its prestigious HBRA Awards for outstanding achievement in the local home building industry. The awards were presented at a Gala celebration on December 13 at the Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien. The association is the premiere resource for area homeowners and the largest chapter of the Homebuilders Association of Connecticut, a branch of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB).
The HBRA Awards are given annually to members in recognition of excellence in new home construction, land development, remodeling, allied supplies and services, and volunteerism to the organization.
In addition to these awards, members are given philanthropic awards for outstanding commitment of time and resources to The Vision Fund, a non-profit organization that benefits needy homeowners in Fairfield County and provides scholarships to young people pursuing college educations.
“Our award winners are very deserving of this recognition for the quality of work they perform in our industry and also their commitment to our association’s standard of excellence,” comments Mary Boudreau, President of the HBRA of Fairfield County. “They have all shown true character during challenging economic times and a real willingness to grow and accommodate the changing needs and interests of the homeowners they serve.”
The following are HBRA Award winners:
Builder of the Year: Peter Fusaro, Founder and President of Preferred Builders Inc., Vice President, Green Built Connecticut, Riverside, HBRA Board of Directors
Remodeler of the Year: Neal Berko, Co-founder, Four Square Builders, Inc., Sandy Hook, Past President HBRA (2004-2006)
Associate of the Year: Jim Sweeney, President, HomeTronics Lifestyles, North Haven, Treasurer HBRA Board of Directors
Woman of the Year: Dawn Barson, Co-owner, think creative group, New Haven, Secretary HBRA Board of Directors, Secretary of The Vision Fund
Business of the Year: TD Bank
Supplier of the Year: Stepping Stones Marble & Granite LLC, Norwalk
Volunteer of the Year: Peter Giordano, City Carting, Recycling & Demo, Stamford, HBRA Board of Directors
President’s Choice: Michael Devine, President, Devine Brothers, Inc., Devine Bio Heat, Norwalk, HBRA Government Relations Committee
