Men and Women have distinguishably different views on partnerships. The recession has not only affected the economy but it has impacted RELATIONSHIPS and the dilemma of “staying together” because of the economy! The recession has forced fragmented couples to re-adjust their concept of divorce, due to unemployment, layoffs, financial reallocation, real estate depreciation, and uncertainty. Consequently, couples have dropped their legal filing for separation and divorce by over a whopping 47% nationally.
The “Love Rehab Road Show" on being held on Thursday, January 28th, 6:30 pm at the Roger Sherman Inn in New Canaan, CT. is a “For Men Only” event dealing with surviving a breakup.
Despite the fact that no gender is immune to breaking personal commitments, there is a fundamental difference between the way it handled by males and females. Building on the success of several “Love Rehab” Road Shows “For Women Only,” this event caters to the unprecedented demand from men to have an event exclusively of their own.
"Love Rehab" is the brainchild of Vivian Eison, an Emmy nominated documentary writer/producer and psychiatric nurse. "My own personal story of divorce, rejection, and financial instability motivated me to help others to minimize the devastating effects of divorce”.
Ms. Eison, as a contributing writer in a popular blog called “Black Power.com”, wrote a piece questioning the DNA of love relationships --- which garnered 60% of female readership and a surprising 40% of male readership. That was the genesis of the first “Love Rehab Road Show.”
Ms. Eison, stated that “Love Rehab will assist in regaining control of a chaotic emotional and physical state, while the relationship is in crisis and provides balanced solutions and strategies to move forward. Most importantly, the event will provide camaraderie and the knowledge that they are not alone during this transitional period of their lives.”
Bobby Ramos, Co-host of Sports Talk in Black n' White on WICC 600 AM Radio, will moderate the groundbreaking event. Love Rehab will be a team effort with Orla Cashman, PhD, Family therapist; Karen Reynolds , a Family attorney; and Lisa Nkonoki, Founder/Advocate, “Dad’s Do Make a Difference” program.
Often times, depression is masked, creating symptoms that are not easily recognizable by family and friends. Ultimately, that can cause low work performance mental stress, physical ailments, and in the worst case, suicidal tendencies. The suicide rate for men in their 40's and 50's is three times the US national average--and 80% of all suicides are men!
The Love Rehab Event will provide a healing environment to inspire, empower, and inform each attendee whether a concerned friend or one who is currently struggling through the process of getting over a breakup. Love Rehab Road Show provides support, and realistic information covering issues such as court system challenges, child support, alimony, custody, visitations and more. Men of all ages will be attending this unique event in a comfortable Sports Bar atmosphere.
The “Love Rehab Road Show" will be held at the Roger Sherman Inn, 195 Oenoke Ridge (Route 124), New Canaan, Connecticut, 06840 on Thursday, January 28th at 6:30 pm in the Sports Bar. The first twenty five men attending will receive freshly rolled cigars as a gift. Additionally, all attendees are eligible to win prizes ranging from Knicks tickets to ESPN Sports Tours, and more!
The cost for early registration, received before January 24th, 2010 is thirty-five dollars ($35), and forty dollars ($40) if received after January 24th. The price includes delicious food and “real talk.”
