Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) on Monday announced that the Migratory Bird Hunting Regulations Meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday August 1, 2014, in the upstairs conference room at Cabelas in East Hartford (475 East Hartford Blvd. North). This is a change in venue, as the conference room at DEEP’s Marine Headquarters in Old Lyme, where this meeting is typically held, is currently being renovated.

The meeting provides interested parties an opportunity to comment on the proposed hunting season regulations for the 2014-2015 migratory bird seasons. The DEEP will present proposed regulations and take all public comments. Final hunting season dates will be formulated shortly after the comments are compiled and evaluated. Hunters are reminded that the DEEP accepts comments on the migratory bird hunting regulations year round; however, this meeting serves to finalize the regulations and is held immediately after the federal frameworks are set by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Directions to Cabelas:

From the west: I-84 east to exit 58 for Roberts Street/Silver Lane. At the end of the exit ramp, take a right and proceed straight across Silver Lane. At the light, bear left. The conference room is on the second floor.

From the east: I-84 west to exit 58 for Roberts Street/Silver Lane. At end of exit ramp, turn left onto Roberts Street. Go straight past 2 traffic lights, and bear left. The conference room is on the second floor.
