Hartford, CT - New Country Motor Car Group and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment recently hosted Bright Lights, Bright Wishes, a holiday event in support of Make-A-Wish® Connecticut, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Hartford-based showroom was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with an appearance by Santa and his elves, to the delight of several children, who attended as guests of Make-A-Wish®. Adults enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided by Feng Asian Bistro, J Restaurant Bar and New York Pickle Deli, Peel Liquors, Franklin Distributors and Rex Goliath Wines. Special holiday surprises followed as part of the festivities to help make the dreams of ill children a reality.

“The holiday season is the perfect time to spread joy by donating to this exceptional charity. Our company is committed to improving the lives of those in our community, so it was our honor to host this event,” said New Country Mercedes-Benz General Manager Mark Hoch.

According to the results of a 2011 Wish Impact Study, a wish come true empowers children with life-threatening conditions to fight harder against their illnesses. When wish kids are granted a wish, they get more than just a great experience for a day or a week. In fact, most health professionals say a wish come true has the potential to be a positive turning point in the child’s battle for health.

“Since we grant over 150 wishes per year and the average cost of a wish in Connecticut is almost $10,000, our volunteer organization relies on high profile partnerships to increase both our awareness and fundraising efforts. We are very grateful to both New Country and Clear Channel for hosting this important event,” says Mike Burke, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish® Connecticut.

New Country Motor Car Group sells and services Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter Vans, BMW, and Mini , they are all conveniently located on the New Country Campus in Hartford. Visit the showroom’s on Weston Street, Hartford CT or www.newcountry.com for more information.

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut is part of the nation’s largest and most well-established wish-granting organization, with chapters and volunteers throughout the U.S. and abroad. The work of Make-A-Wish is accomplished by a volunteer governing board of directors, a paid staff of dedicated employees, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. The chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in the state of Connecticut. For more information visit www.ct.wish.org.
