STAMFORD, CT - Start off 2014 in the best shape ever with New Year, New You on Wednesday, January 8 at 6 p.m. at Stamford's Ferguson Library. Whether you want to shed extra pounds, manage money effectively, or reshape your career, The Friends of The Ferguson Library has the bases covered with three authors who will put you on track to keep your New Year’s resolutions.

Chris Crowley, author of Thinner This Year, partners with Jen Sacheck, a Tufts University nutritionist and exercise physiologist, to spell out a weight-loss plan that will have readers lose up to 25 pounds in the first six months—and keep it off for life. Author of the best-selling Younger Next Year books for both men and women, Crowley will discuss his latest work, which lays out a no-nonsense strategy that is based on the latest science. Learn which food proportions work best to shave off the pounds and which daily exercises will keep you strong, trim and healthy.

Nancy Collamer, author of Second-Act Careers: 50+ Ways to Profit from Your Passions During Semi-Retirement, will discuss her guide to creating profitable and meaningful career change on your own terms and in your own way. Learn how to repackage your passion and start earning income on pursuits that most appeal to you. Whether it’s through traditional part-time jobs, or through newer routes like blogging, Collamer has the tips you need to succeed.

Julie Jason, author of Managing Retirement Wealth, will discuss her primer on how to deal with the uncertainty investors face, especially when transitioning into retirement. She is also the author of The AARP Retirement Survival Guide, a time-tested, solid retirement advice guide for people of every income level.
