A new, colorful mural now graces the walls of City Hall. “Spicy City” is an original work by Hartford artist Ethan Boisvert. The 30-foot painting depicts some of Hartford’s most prominent landmarks in an abstract collage. "Spicy City” was commissioned by Hartford’s own Connetic Dance for the company’s contemporary rendition of the holiday classic The Nutcracker, called “Nutcracker Suite & Spicy,” which debuted last year at the Aetna Theater of the Wadsworth Atheneum and will again be performed at the same location on December 17th, 2011.

Mr. Boisvert is a multi-disciplinary artist who holds a BFA in sculpture from the Hartford Art School. His focus is primarily painting, drawing, and photography. Over the past four years his exhibits have been displayed in Connecticut and New York.

“What an opportunity to showcase the Arts in Hartford. Local talent combined with historic venues help make Connecticut’s Capital City a choice destination for live and unique entertainment for residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Pedro E. Segarra.
