ROCKY HILL, CT - Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union presented the local chapter of the March of Dimes with a check for $43,000 on May 15th at the credit union’s headquarters in Rocky Hill. The money was raised through the efforts of Nutmeg’s staff, members and business partners.

“We are grateful to everyone who aided our efforts to support families right here in Connecticut,” said Nutmeg President & CEO John Holt. “I’m proud to have served as the Chairperson for this year’s March for Babies event that was held at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.”

Nutmeg served as a presenting sponsor of the April 29th March for Babies/Run for Babies 5k along with Aetna. On the Friday before the event, Nutmeg employees wore purple to generate excitement and raise awareness about this great organization that has helped millions of babies survive and thrive for 80 years. The Nutmeg team worked together to raise over $1,000 for the cause.

One Nutmeg staff member in particular has a personal connection to the March of Dimes. Kiri Thomson, Compliance and Risk Analyst, was affected by premature birth of her twin daughters. She has since been very active in supporting the March of Dimes.

Holt would like to thank the many businesses whose generosity helped make the event successful, including Allied Solutions, Alogent, Baldini and Lang, Corelation, D. Hilton, DaLand, PFP and Vantiv. “We are honored to work with the March of Dimes and look forward to more opportunities to lend a hand in the future,” said Holt.
