Robert Polito, Jr., Elected to Board of Trustees of Masonicare

WATERBURY, CT - Robert Polito, Jr., senior vice president, Director Government Guaranteed Lending at Webster Bank has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Masonicare in Wallingford, Conn. Masonicare is Connecticut’s leading not-for-profit provider of healthcare and retirement living for seniors.

Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from metro New York to Boston, Mass., is the number one U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) lender in Connecticut in total units and total dollars for the sixth consecutive year. Webster is also the number one SBA 504 lender in Connecticut for the 12th consecutive year. Earlier this year, Webster received the 2013 SBA Eagle Award.

In 2003, Polito was named the SBA’s Financial Advocate of the Year in Connecticut and in 2007, received the SBA’s Award for Lending Excellence, one of only two awarded in the nation.

Polito is a former Captain-U.S. Army Infantry Officer in the Connecticut Army National Guard. He has served on numerous boards throughout his career and is a past president of the University of New Haven’s alumni association. In addition to Masonicare’s Board of Trustees, he is chairman of the Investment Committee; chairman of the Information Technology Steering Committee; and vice chairman of the Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut.

Polito joined Webster in 1994. A resident of Madison, Conn., Polito earned his Bachelors in Public Policy and Government from Eastern Connecticut State University and is an Army ROTC graduate from the University of Connecticut. He earned his MBA in Accounting/Management from the University of New Haven and received post-graduated business certification from UConn.
