In response to a growing need for convenient cardio-vascular care, Danbury Office of Physician Services, Inc. recently announced that Samuel Felder, M.D., and Susan Mani, M.D. are physician staff of Danbury Cardiology Associates newly opened office at 219 Kent Road in New Milford, CT. A highly experienced cardiologist, and long-time Roxbury, CT resident, Dr. Felder will be working with Susan Mani, M.D. to provide cardiovascular care as member staff of the Praxair Regional Heart and Vascular Center at Danbury Hospital. The practice’s outpatient cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment at this location will offer Litchfield and upper Fairfield County area residents more convenient access to a variety of services. “We want to provide local access for our patients, who often don’t want to travel far for high-quality health care services,” said Dr. Felder. ”I live in the area so I couldn’t be more pleased to be so close to home. Danbury Hospital’s Praxair Regional Heart and Vascular Center has been placed in the top 5 percent of best U.S. hospitals by the country’s leading independent health-care rating organization. The Praxair Regional Heart & Vascular Center was recently ranked in the top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals for quality cardiac care by the HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study. The hospital was one of only five hospitals in the NY (including NYC), NJ and CT region to receive this ranking out of 63 hospitals with an advanced care program. Dr. Felder was educated at State University of New York and had a Fellowship in Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. He is the Medical Director of Pacemaker and Arrhythmia Services at Danbury Hospital. Dr. Mani is a well-known lecturer and Medical Director of the Danbury Hospital’s Women’s Cardiac Program. She has made it her mission to educate women in the region about the symptoms of heart disease and ways to reduce the risk of heart disease. She was educated at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her Fellowship in Cardiology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical center in NY. “Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women. I’m very interested in extending my message of heart health to the women of Litchfield County,” Mani said.
