Shipman & Goodwin names five new partners

Moira Buckley
Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that the following five attorneys have been named partners in the firm: Moira Buckley, Corrine Burnick, Derek Mogck, Jill O’Toole and William Ronalter.

Moira Buckley practices in the areas of white collar crime, government investigations and corporate compliance, where she represents clients charged with offenses in federal and state court. She also has extensive experience before the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts. She is on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Corrine Burnick regularly handles restructuring and bankruptcy matters, with particular experience representing fiduciaries for public debt in complex Chapter 11 cases. She also represents banks in their role as escrow agent or trustee in a wide variety of financing transactions. Derek Mogck
Derek Mogck practices in the areas of construction and business litigation. He advises clients on institutional and residential construction projects and related disputes, as well as conflicts between investors and their advisors, contractual disputes and unfair trade practice claims. He is the past co-chair of the Trial Evidence Subcommittee of the American Bar Association and member of the Board of Directors of the University of Hartford Construction Institute. Jill O’Toole is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation and the Government Investigations & White Collar Criminal Defense practice groups. She represents clients in complex business disputes involving corporate trust, fiduciary duties, insurance, contracts and antitrust and trade regulation, and has handled multidistrict litigation and state and federal securities class actions. She has also represented clients involved in investigations by a variety of authorities, including the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorneys, District Attorneys, Attorneys General and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. William Ronalter’s practice is devoted to personal injury and wrongful death cases, and he has extensive experience with insurance coverage analysis. He is on the Board of Governors for the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Connecticut School of Law’s Trial Practice Class.
