Stamford, CT - Stamford Downtown began installation of its new Street Pole banners throughout Stamford Downtown today with a press conference conducted this afternoon on Bedford Street in Stamford Downtown.

A series of eight new visuals with tagline, “This is the Place!” will be installed on lampposts throughout Stamford Downtown. These eight illustrated, full-color banners depict key attributes of a thriving Stamford Downtown. These banners will be displayed for the next three years, and the illustrations and tagline, “This is the Place!” will be incorporated into advertising and other marketing media.

Mike Lombardo and Nancy Anderson of Creative Insight, a full-service design agency, designed the banners. A marketing committee was formed in early 2011, comprised of marketing executives from local corporations and city officials. The committee formulated a Branding Campaign RFP which was sent out to 46 local and regional design firms in April, 2011. Nine agencies submitted proposals for the project. The marketing committee narrowed down to two finalists, Creative Insight and The Silverman Group. Creative Insight was awarded the design job. Creative Insight was also chosen to create the previous 3-year banner campaign. (Creative Insight, LLC, New Canaan, CT, (203) 594-9409)

These banners will be displayed for the next three years, and the illustrations and tagline, “This is the Place!” will be incorporated into advertising and other marketing media.
