Stamford, CT - The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is pleased to host its Fall Farm to Table Supper on Thursday, September 14, from 6 to 10 pm. This sumptuous dining experience will take place in the intimate setting of the Bendel Mansion and will feature the cuisine of Matt Storch, Chef and Owner of Match Restaurant in South Norwalk.
The evening will begin with a leisurely cocktail hour, followed by a special sneak preview of the Stamford Museum’s Fall Exhibition, Illustrations of Imaginative Literature: The Korshak Collection.
Opening to the public on Friday, September 22, this exhibition features masterpieces of American and European science fiction, adventure and fantasy illustrations from the private collection of Stephen and Alma Korshak. Stephen’s father, Erle Korshak, founded Shasta Publishers, which specialized in science fiction books. The Korshak Collection includes original artwork by both American and European artists that span more than a century, among them illustrations by Virgil Finlay, Frank Frazetta, Brian Froud, and Michael Whelan. We’re delighted that Stephen Korshak will be on hand to take us on a personal tour of this world-renowned collection of the very best of science fiction and fantasy art.
Since 2000, when he first took the helm at Match Restaurant in South Norwalk, Chef Matt Storch has energized the Fairfield County dining scene with a unique twist on the classics and a delicious focus on what’s different, fresh, and sourced locally. Match has been rated four stars by the New York Times and is consistently voted Best of the Gold Coast.
Chef Storch has also captivated local foodies with Nom-eez in Fairfield, and recently announced plans to open his newest eatery, Match Burger Lobster, in the Saugatuck neighborhood of his hometown of Westport.
Among the delicious offerings on his menu for the Farm to Table Supper on Sept. 14 is an entrée choice of Wood Grilled Bass with Fennel Agro Dolce & Crispy Skinned Organic Chicken covered with Fresh Black Truffles; a pasta course of Baked Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli; and a salad of Arugula, Grilled Lemon & Olive Oil.
