STAMFORD, CT - Eric S. Osterberg, partner in the Stamford office of Fox Rothschild LLP, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the editorial board of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) AIPLA Quarterly Journal.
The editorial board for the publication, which focuses its contents on intellectual property matters, is made of selected lawyers that show demonstrated interested and experience in intellectual property law. As a member of the board, Osterberg is responsible for editing and managing the publication.
Osterberg focuses his practice in intellectual property litigation and counseling, general commercial litigation, and securities and private equity-related litigation. He has litigated a wide range of cases in federal courts across the country including, international and domestic copyright infringement, patent and design patent infringement, trade secret disputes, trademark and trade dress infringement, breaches of entertainment industry contracts, counterfeiting and false advertising.
His intellectual property clients include patent and trademark owners and users in a variety of industries, music publishers, songwriters, collective licensing societies, record companies, print publishers and authors, motion picture studios, television and motion picture producers, advertising agencies, internet service and telecommunications providers, and clothing designers and manufacturers.
Osterberg is a frequent lecturer and has published numerous articles on copyright law. He is co-author of "Substantial Similarity In Copyright Law,” a treatise devoted to the analysis of the ways in which courts compare works in copyright infringement cases, and is part of the group that drafted the ABA model jury instructions for copyright infringement cases in spring 2008. He also contributes to Fox’s IP Legal Watch Blog (http://iplawwatch.foxrothschild.com/).
Osterberg received his J.D. from Emory University in 1992 and his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1988.
