STAMFORD, CT - Thursday Chris Meek of Stamford, Founder of START Now! a Stamford based non-profit established to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, announced his campaign to represent Connecticut's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"I am excited to launch my campaign for Congress and to begin a conversation with Connecticut's voters about the important issues facing our community: creating local jobs, growing our economy, ending partisan gridlock in Washington, improving our schools, reining in the cost of healthcare, and securing America's future," said Meek.

"I have spent the last several years working to help those in our community who have suffered at the hands of irresponsible partisanship in Washington. With so many people out of work, home foreclosures on the rise and spending in Washington out of control, we need leaders in Washington willing to roll up their sleeves, bring people together and find solutions," said Meek.

"I am proud to have helped so many in our community find solutions to finding work, avoiding foreclosure and getting their families back on the right track and know that going to Congress would give me the chance to help so many others," said Meek.

"I am running a different kind of campaign," said Meek. "Too many politicians say they're listening to voters but forget their voices when they hit the Capitol steps. I wanted to take our announcement to the voters by launching online at www.meekforcongress.com and hosting a tele-town hall — taking our campaign directly to the voters."

"The stakes are too high and talking about change just won't cut it anymore," said Meek. "With the love and support of my family, I am excited to hit the campaign trail and work with those in our community who are desperate for real change in Washington."
