NORWALK, CT - January is National Mentoring Month, and The Human Services Council’s will celebrate its Norwalk Mentor Program with a special evening at The Stepping Stones Museum on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Founded by mentoring expert Dr. Susan Weinberger, and led by program director Nancy Pratt, the Norwalk Mentor Program is one of the longest running school-based mentoring programs in the country, with a strong partnership with Norwalk Public Schools. Over the last school year alone, the Norwalk Mentor Program facilitated 268 mentor/mentee matches and provided 11,340 hours of mentoring to Norwalk Public School students.
Sponsored by FactSet, Iridian Asset Management, Pepperidge Farm, PDC International Corporation, and Fairfield County Bank, this evening of appreciation and fun will thank program mentors for volunteerism, acknowledge the senior mentees who will graduate from high school this year, and give families and mentors an opportunity to meet.
