Bridgeport, CT - On Saturday, March 16, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host a free health lecture on diabetes and hearing loss featuring keynote speaker Dr. Robert L. Weiss, on behalf of the Southwestern CT Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America. The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the retirement community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.
For his lecture, Dr. Weiss will discuss how diabetes relates to hearing loss, and the latest research and technology designed to help people with hearing loss lead a fulfilling and functional life. Dr. Weiss will also talk about a recent trip to Ethiopia where he and a team of ENT specialists screened children and adults experiencing hearing loss.
“New research has suggested that as many as 1 in 5 people suffer from hearing loss in at least one ear, making it extremely important to understand how to protect your hearing and what to do if you experience hearing loss,” said Marlane Argianas, Resident Services Coordinator at the Watermark at 3030 Park. “We are very pleased to host an expert such as Dr. Weiss, who can provide practical and helpful information to our residents and guests.”
Dr. Weiss is board-certified in Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is currently serving as the Director of The Connecticut Center for Advanced ENT Care in Norwalk. He studied at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and received a B.S. from Adelphi University in New York.
This event is free and open to the public. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by calling The Watermark at 3030 Park at (203) 373-6288.
