The staff of WoodenBoat Magazine is pleased to announce the return of The WoodenBoat Show to Mystic Seaport, Mystic, Connecticut. Show dates are June 27-29, 2008. The 2008 show will feature expanded dock space to showcase more wooden boats than ever before, and additional demonstration and tent space to host even more unique exhibitors & wooden boat building experts, and their crafts.

The three-day WoodenBoat Show offers something for everyone, from wooden boat enthusiasts, and marine history buffs, to the dreamers who just want to look and listen vicariously to the adventures and experiences of others. One admission price gains access to all the boat show displays and activities of the WoodenBoat Show and Mystic Seaport.

This year's WoodenBoat Show will include a new exhibit called "I Built it Myself" which will feature the owner-built boats from over 30 WoodenBoat magazine readers. A wide range of designers (Herreshoff, Joel White, Iain Oughtred, among others), and a remarkable range of types (kayaks, peapods, skiffs, power boats and a sloop) will be on display. Come be inspired and have the opportunity to meet and talk to people who have followed their dreams of building their own wooden boat.

A full schedule of LIVE demonstrations will be offered during all three days of the show ranging from bronze casting to steam bending, to spiling, to saw milling for boatbuilders. Demonstrations will be given by wooden boat building experts from both Mystic Seaport and the WoodenBoat magazine staff of technical writers and school instructors.

Due to popular demand, The WoodenBoat Show will again present a festival of films and author talks throughout the weekend. Marine film history buffs can enjoy films ranging from a PT boat restoration to the history of the Downeast lobsterman. In addition, circumnavigators Philip Shelton and Amy Wood will give a "no holds barred" account of their adventures on their 42 foot wooden cutter "Iwalani," from their book "World Voyagers." Visit the show web site to see the film festival and author visit schedule. www.thewoodenboatshow.com

On Saturday evening, there will be a special dinner to honor multihull pioneers Jim Brown, Meade Gougeon, Walter Greene, Dick Newick and James Wharram. These innovators will explain their design and build philosophies, and display some of their boats. Tickets for this tribute and dinner are $30 and available at The WoodenBoat Store, 1-800-273-7447.
