The United Illuminating Company has scheduled a service outage for February 27 that will affect some customers in the city of West Haven.
The planned outage will last from 9 a.m. until noon and will affect approximately 600 customers, who have been notified of the event by direct mail and other means. The outage is necessary as UI upgrades the overhead distribution system and will help ensure reliable electric service in the future.
Should weather conditions become inclement on Feb. 27, UI will postpone the outage and announce a future date for the system upgrades.
Scheduled service outages are occasionally necessary as UI continually maintains and upgrades its electric system to serve customers better and ensure future reliability.
