WATERBURY, CT - Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from Westchester County, N.Y. to Boston, Mass., announced today that it raised a record-setting $1.27 million through its recently completed 2012 Employee Community Campaign for the United Way.
The amount raised makes Webster one of Connecticut’s largest contributors to the United Way. The money will go to more than 40 United Way chapters and more than 100 United Way partner agencies across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Westchester County, N.Y.
“For more than 75 years, our team at Webster has been committed to supporting the United Way,” said Jim O’Meara, senior vice president, commercial banking at Webster and chair of the 2012 Webster Employee Community Campaign for the United Way. “In doing so, together, we have shown clearly what it means to be a Type W personality and demonstrated how we Live United by giving back to the communities we serve.”
