Registration begins February 22 for the Westport Arts Center (WAC) Summer Camp programs for children entering 1st through 5th grade. The programs are designed to be hands-on, educational arts experiences and will be taught by professional artists and educators. Classes will be held at the Westport Arts Center Gallery, 51 Riverside Avenue, Westport.
"Our summer camps provide not only a great opportunity to get messy, have fun, and create unique and creative projects, but also a wonderful way to make new friends in a supportive environment," said Danielle Cavanna, the Center's director of education. "It's always such a pleasure to see the students on the last day of class sharing materials and ideas, laughing with one another, and having the best time, surrounded by art."
This year WAC will offer seven, week-long camps, each with a different theme. Each day the students explore an artist, culture, or artistic movement and create projects with diverse art materials. The registration fee for each camp is $275; $250 for WAC members. Members can register for summer workshops beginning on February 22. Anyone can become a member of the Westport Arts Center on the registration date, and family memberships begin at $60. Public registration begins March 1. For more information or to register, please call the Westport Arts Center at 203-222-7070.
