NORWALK, CT - Wilton resident Mark Brown received the Anne C. Cary Volunteerism Award from Family & Children’s Agency at the organization’s recent annual meeting. The award, named for a long-time volunteer, recognizes an individual who has demonstrated the highest level of volunteerism on behalf of the Agency. Rob Cashel, CEO and President of the Agency, noted, “Mark Brown – and his family – have worked tirelessly to help the Agency with so many aspects of our work, and we are truly grateful for their support.” In presenting the award, Chairman of the Board William Murphy summarized, “Mark Brown represents the true essence of what volunteerism and philanthropy are all about.”

Mr. Brown joined the Agency’s Board of Directors in 2005, and he has served on the Finance Committee and currently is a member of the Endowment Committee. For eight years, he also has been a member of the committee to organize the annual golf benefit for the Agency, and he has co-chaired the event since 2005. During his tenure, the event has raised over $900,000 to fund Agency programs.

Involvement with Family & Children’s Agency is a family affair for the Browns. Mr. Brown’s wife Tammy has been active with the Agency’s benefit committee, and she co-chaired the highly successful 2008 benefit, “Soaring to New Heights.” In addition, both of their daughters, Tana and Taylor, have served as summer interns with the Agency’s Youth Development program.

Mr. Brown is Managing Director of Tudor Investment Corporation in Greenwich, where he oversees global execution trading with teams in Greenwich, London, and Singapore. A native of Michigan, he received a BA from Western Michigan University, and he holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University. In addition to his work with Family & Children’s Agency, Mr. Brown has been involved with the Robin Hood Foundation, which is focused on alleviating poverty in New York City, since 1988.
