The Bridgeport Bluefish Community Outreach Program is going strong and is reaching out to your community yet again. This Saturday, June 28 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Written Words Bookstore Bluefish players are going to participate in the "Get Fit, Stay Smart" program designed to help promote physical fitness and mental wellness.

Written Words Bookstore is located at White Hills Shopping Center, 194 Leavenworth Road in Shelton. The event consists of a story time with Bridgeport Bluefish players and an appearance by B.B., the Bluefish Mascot.

This summer reading and fitness incentive program runs for four weeks in the summer for a chance to win Bluefish home game tickets. Written Words Bookstore is joining with the Bluefish and is holding a Reading Club program for kids from kindergarten to 7th grade to join.

"It’s exciting to be able to extend our Reading Club Program through the summer and work beside Written Words Bookstore," said Community Outreach Manager Marilyn Guarino. "The Bridgeport Bluefish are proud to participate in the 'Get Fit, Stay Smart' program."

The Bridgeport Bluefish Professional Baseball Club, a charter team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, plays its home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, located off Exit 27 of I-95 on the corner of Broad Street and South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. 2008 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 203-345-4800.
