To celebrate National Women’s Health and Fitness Day, The Ridgefield Playhouse will present an on-stage Zumba dance/workout on Wednesday, September 29, at 6:30 p.m. Working out can have health benefits and be rewarding and beneficial. Set to Latin tempos, it can also be fun and exhilarating. National Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event. This year, The Ridgefield Playhouse turns center stage into a fitness party for women of all ages. On Wednesday, September 29, more than 1,400 groups across the country will host women’s health and fitness events.
With support from Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, trained Zumba instructors from Ridgefield Fitness will lead the workout using hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves in a one-of-a-kind fitness event. Pre-Zumba activities will be held in the lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. Including wine and cheese from Cellar XV and 109 Cheese, special salon tips and services from Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, and other surprises including Zumba fashion wear and other goings-on.
This unique national program — with participation by local organizations throughout the U.S. — focuses attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. An estimated 40,000 to 100,000 women are expected to participate in local activities.
In the past years, Zumba programs have become nothing short of a revolution in group exercise. It has been considered the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.
